October 13, 2009 is the day that changed my life! For the past year or so, I had been suffering from chronic shoulder and neck pain and had a very weak upper-body. I was battling an extra ten pounds that I had put on since turning 40, and when I discussed this with medical experts, they would tell me that after you hit 40 it's natural for a woman's metabolism to slow down. Needless-to-say, I wasn't feeling very good about myself. Then I went to Fit Life Personal Training and Wellness Consulting for my first assessment. Marissa and I talked about my goals, which were to be strong and healthy, and losing weight would be an added bonus if it happened. About Christmas time is when I really started to notice the changes. I was losing inches, but more importantly, I was feeling so strong! Through proper instruction by Marissa, I learned how to vary my weights and cardio routines to maximize results. About a month ago (and 14 lbs. thinner), I packed up five bags of clothes that I could no longer wear because they were way too big! Working out has become the best part of my day - every day! I love the personal training sessions with my partner, but I also love the group activities like Boot Camp and snowshoeing in the winter. Today at Boot Camp, one of the other ladies told me she wanted my legs! I've always hated my legs before---but it just goes to show you that with dedication, determination, and working towards your goals---you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Marissa is a fabulous personal trainer. Before I started training with Marissa my workout experience had not been very effective and I often found myself failing at it and not challenging myself. Marissa brings a tremendous amount of enthusiasm, energy and experience to each workout. She is always creating new exercises and challenging me. I wanted to strengthen my core and feel better about myself. Working with Marissa as my trainer has helped me do just that. I look forward to working out!

I began attending FitLife’s Boot Camp in May of 2010. After two knee injuries, both requiring surgery nearly 10 years ago, I was ready to make some changes in my life. I had started running on my own again in February, and had a personal goal to run a 5k race in the summer of 2010; something I had never done before, and something I didn’t think I would ever do after my surgeries.
Because of my schedule, I was only able to attend the Boot Camps once every week or two at the most. Although I would have liked to attend more regularly, the boot camps were perfect for my needs. Each session offered a challenging routine that not only burned calories, but also provided targeted muscle strengthening and toning exercises. Knowing that I had Boot Camp coming up each week encouraged me to stay on schedule with my running and other workouts at home. I also enjoyed the opportunity to work out with others who had similar fitness goals. And because it was a group session, the cost was more affordable than a one-on-one training session.
On July 3rd, I participated in and completed my first 5k! I truly believe I would not have had the confidence nor the strength to complete this race had it not been for the training I received through the Boot Camp sessions.
My only regret is that I didn’t hear about FitLife sooner! Marissa does a wonderful job creating each workout, and tailoring it to the needs of her clients. She is very personable, professional, and I believe she honestly cares about each client and their ability to reach their goals. I highly recommend Marissa and FitLife to help you reach your fitness goals.

"I noticed changes right away in how I looked and felt."
When i started training with marissa i really didn't know what to expect. i have been fit all my life and enjoy doing things outside like walking and riding my bike. as i have gotten older i began to notice some changes in my stamina, and my level of fitness has been harder to maintain. i was trying other workouts like wii fit and weightlifting at home on my own. this was fun but i really wasn't getting any results. i felt like i needed guidance from someone.thank goodness i found marissa! even though i was nervous the first time i went she put me at ease right away. she knew exactly what i was talking about when i told her my workout whoas and she knew immediately how i could achieve my goals, and not just short term results but long term fitness. i noticed changes right away in how i looked and felt. when i found out she was moving i was beside my self, but i shouldn't have worried. we keep in contact by email and she still gives me great workouts, fitness tips, and is always there to answer all my questions. she is the best choice in personal trainers i could have made.
